Leadership Expectations

As an Operations Manager (Area Manager) within a Walmart Distribution Center, you are the tactical commander of the warehouse floor. You will lead a large team of hourly associates, ensuring that daily production targets are achieved while fostering a deeply positive and inclusive work environment.

• Team Mentorship: Direct, train, and motivate a diverse team of warehouse associates. You will conduct daily pre-shift meetings, provide constructive performance feedback, and actively develop future leaders from within your ranks.
• Metric Achievement: Monitor digital flow dashboards to track the facility's inbound or outbound volume. You will dynamically reallocate labor across the floor to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure strict dispatch deadlines are met.
• Safety Cultivation: Champion Walmart's safety culture. You will ensure absolute compliance with OSHA standards, conduct safety audits, and address any hazardous conditions immediately to protect your team.
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean management principles to identify process inefficiencies on the floor, collaborating with senior leadership to implement strategies that reduce waste and improve logistical accuracy.
