Position Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated and energetic individuals to join our team as a Freight Handler. In this highly active role, you are the critical first step in our distribution process. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient unloading and loading of commercial trailers, ensuring that freight flows smoothly into and out of our Distribution Center. This role is ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy physical, hands-on work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Trailer Unloading: Safely and efficiently unload inbound freight from commercial trailers, manually moving boxes onto conveyor belts or sorting them onto designated pallets.
- Freight Organization: Organize and stage merchandise in the receiving area, ensuring all product is handled with care to prevent damage.
- Outbound Loading: Strategically stack and secure outbound freight into departing trailers, maximizing cubic space and ensuring the load is stable for over-the-road transit.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and perfectly safe work area, adhering strictly to all Walmart safety protocols and ergonomic lifting techniques.
Qualifications and Total Rewards
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Exceptional physical stamina is required, as you must be capable of continuously lifting, bending, and carrying freight weighing up to 50 pounds throughout your shift. Previous warehouse experience is welcome but not required.
